Managed to get some more research for the Skyhawk. There are now 2 private companies in the US flying these aircraft, and I got a good walkaround of an ex-IAF A-4N and an ex-IAF TA-4J. Lots of photos of all of the hard-to-see places that are usually left out of walkarounds too.

Nice Craig, did you get any pictures of the canopy lifting mechanism for the 2 seater? i am having a crack at scratch building one for my one but haven't been able to find any reference pictures for it

Do you mean the section between the front and rear cockpit with the strut? If so then yes - that being the part that lifts the canopy. I was not able to get any good pics of the hinge area at the rear of the canopy. Will post some when I get home tonight.

Did you look through the SkyHawk reference photos here on the site? There's quite a lot of them.

Something I should add I guess :)
Yeah you can only see the photo libraries if you are logged in, it cuts down on the leaching

Finally got this one finished. Lot of fun, but a bit of a marathon. No pics yet. Will post some after I get back from Dunedin next week. Here is a teaser of the seats I took about a week ago. These are TwoMikes dressed up with some other bits and pieces.

Pictures of the finished model as promised. Ended up scratchbuilding some intake blanks as well.

On the table

I did have to overspray the dark grey areas of the tail decals, as Furball had these printed in the wrong colour grey for some reason, even though they showed the right colour grey on the instructions.

Cleaning up the iPhone to free memory and came across these that I forgot to post. Apologies for crappy pics as these were taken on my work "cheapie" iPhone 4. This is the pre-shading I did before adding camo to the jet. I had already sprayed the gear door edges red and masked them off.
