he was cheaper than marvle3d www.trademe.co.nz/stores/marvle3d and about 5 minutes from my house!

Not really, the best way to do it something that big would be to print in on a regular FDM printer in PLA or ABS and then print the detail stuff like the panels etc in resin. You could do it in pure resin but you'd want to make sure it was hollow or it will weigh a tonne and cost you a bomb.

I think with careful planning (as you say, hollowing and making it in well chosen parts) Resin could be pretty viable.. Some basic parts could perhaps be FDM though.

I have seen someone selling STL files for a clone wars era Y-Wing.
Would be fantastic to print one, but probably not the best if it is going to cost a small fortune.

I may try hollowing and printing some larger model components, see how they stack up in cost/detail/accuracy/strength etc.

radically different topic!

Thought this might be interesting to people here.. made some 1/350 scale (6mm) sailors, Imperial German Navy WW1 period to see if it was viable. Printed on Sonic Mini at 0.03mm in phrozen rapid black resin. I think I can safely say it is viable.

Thought I should bring this here as well as at facebook

RAF 1942ish bomber pilot, ready to print in 1/72 and 1/48

If this works well there will be lots of variants and whole crews etc.

Anyone here in nz who would like one of these as a free sample in 72 or 48 let me know Ill add you to the list.

Awesome stuff Shaun. That Lost Temple stone head is cool.

I'd be keen on one of those 48 scale RAF pilots.
