Parameters for this Group Build
Pretty much any subject is allowed, as long as it’s not real. Examples include Gunpla / Macross / Gundam, TV/movie models, Warhammer, Apocalypse, Steam Punk, Sci-Fi, Bio-Mechanical, Fantasy, Figurines (not based on real people). Out of box, aftermarket and scratch built all allowed. 3D printed items are also allowed but must be totally created by you, not edited from someone else’s work or had elements imported. No partially started kits or work allowed. Entrants must have been be KM members for at least 2 months. Normal vetting for any cynical entries as usual.
All entries must have a build log posted in the group build forum presenting regular progress. Judging will be by community vote and possibly guest judge (to be confirmed). Prize(s) are also to be confirmed. Entries are welcome from KM members outside of NZ and if you win a prize you just need to pay the international shipping. Voting will run for the week following the 15th October 2016, ending at midnight on the 22nd October. A deadlock will be decided by a separate run-off vote. An affordable donation to Kiwmodeller.com is always much appreciated from those participating.
Thanks, and Enjoy!

Sci-Fi & Fantasy GB: Bandai 1/72 Resistance X-Wing
Pretty much thought that it was confirmed he had the orange/black one. Suspect it will be a marking variation release by Bandai. Apparently it has a special purpose. Guess we'll find out for sure in just over a month.
TWO new TIEs - First Order TIE and First Order Special Forces TIE. Knew about BB8/R2 combo and trooper. All on the Bandai website under coming releases. The Poe X-Wing and Cpt Phasma are news, but not interested in Phasma figure. Good find on the other X-Wing. Will have to order that. Be interesting to see how everything scales to the FM kits also.

Still good of him to let you know. I'm always amazed at Japanese sellers on eBay they always include a small gift or something in the package like a pen or something.. If you want to off load the spare OT X-wing let me know...
If myTFA arrived in time I'll bring it along on Tuesday for a look see...
Yes, I'm very cut up about it. On the positive side the seller's response and handling of this has meant that I will visit his store first for any new Bandai SW releases. Service was prompt and exemplary and very polite the whole time.
Not sure yet about fate of the Bandai ANH X-Wing kit. My FM X-Wing is starting to look a little tired (funny how standards change as you improve your skills), but have so many other kits to move on with. Also in two minds, because I know that there is a size difference between the FM and the Bandai 1/72 kits (TIEs, X-Wing and Y-Wing), even though they are supposedly all the same scale.
Will do the TFA X-Wing first, and then see how I feel about the other. If I do dispose of it, I'll make sure you get first option.
So I made a start on this last night, and I can't say I'm impressed. The over engineered parts just to get the blue stripes on the fuselage in plastic are gimmicky at best, a royal PITA at worst. While the fit is good, I dislike the slot and tab puzzle type construction and resorted to removing the locating pins to help with better fit. You can leave them there if you are happy with a more toylike assembly, but for me it is just annoying.
Got most of the wings and fuselage assembled (yes it does go together not too badly), but have now found two flows marks through the clear canopy that can't be ignored. This kit is now back in the box, and I will concentrate on the other GBs here instead.
And John S, I'll bring the OT X-Wing to the next club meeting and we can haggle a price
