Nice Shaun. Been AWOL for a week or so and bang look at that.
Detailing is pretty cool so can't wait to see your figures :-)

Really nice scratch work going on. Making a silk purse out of a sow's ear.

Finally progress!

Made up and added brackets at 4 locations to hold the rails. The middle ones are quite complex little models in themselves!

There must be people out there who would do this using careful diagrams and jigs and the like.

Nice work shaun :)
If you need and measurements for the other parts sing out.
The tamiya kit is not a complex build and could be finished in a weekend if did not have other builds on the go,am ready to spray some paint soon :)

The accurate armour tracks are going to give me an aneurism I suspect. I think I will definitely need to heat-bend them, but it looks very tricky

I always love how things look in grey!

Im delighted with how all the scratch stuff looks. The tracks are a bit shithouse but mud will soon mask inadequacies there!

Are the track resin?
Where did you get them?

accurate armour set, ordered from them in the UK. cheap, tons of track in the pack (tons left over).. nice and thin, look good in place but you have to heat-melt the strips to get them to fit, and the individual links for the tighter curves go together amazingly badly.. You also have to use CA to attach them and I found it a bit of a nightmare getting it to adhere properly. Not helped at all by the many problems with the kit structure it is fitting to.

So, on to the infantry

The 'story' I'm hoping to tell is a group of soldiers reacting to their first sight of a tank passing by their trench on its way to the front.

This fine looking chap is the platoon commander, originally supplied posed to fire a pistol and wave his stick, I'm re-modelling him to be holding his hat (newly hollowed out) in his left had and his right hand on his head. going to have to bend the right arm, resculpt both hands and made a top to his head.

I may have bitten off more than I can chew!

Shaun

Okay my initial attempt to modify the Tamiya officer to my desired pose.

Be gentle, this is the first time I have ever tried this.. which is very strange given the thousands of figures I have painted and models I have built, but greenstuff and figure sculpting is all new.
