I would like to see a built helicopter in my display case so I could be keen.

Knowledge wise I no zip about helicopters but I have done some goggle work and I like the Revell Mil Mi-24V Hind E 1:72.

I'm thinking with all these apaches being built maybe I should ditch the russian helos and do my IDF AH64D Saraf instead, using the Hasegawa kit.
I will think on it...

In Soviet Russia, Iron Curtain GB builds you!

But feel free to enter it in the iron curtain GB, I'll watch it closely anyway

I pulled out the 1/48 Hokum this morning, am very tempted to do it for the GB. Not too much to it (only 2 sprues plus a little one for the canopy) so it should be a relatively quick build (which for me means maybe inside a year!). Might do a bit of additional work in terms of wiring for the cannon and rotors plus maybe replacing the rocket pod ends (which are solid plastic rods) with brass or aluminium tube, only problem would be I'd have to make about 40-50 of them
The kit...

and the scheme I like the look of...

There is some eduard PE available for it but it is one of their older ones and apparently a PITA to work with. I'll see how cheap I can get it and go from there, otherwise it will be OOB with some wiring etc.

Also, I've finished my BK117, not happy with final result but for now it's at the Waikato rescue helicopter hangar for their open day on Sunday, I'll get it back after my honeymoon around end of March

Nice subject, but can I politely suggest that you take the plastic off the sprues, glue it together and paint it? :P Seriously, if I was in your position I would just crack on with something and do it simply and without too much worry about accuracy and detail.

It's Revell 1/48. Was gifted to me last year, so thought I might as well use this as an excuse to build it :P

Won't be a quick build, G2. It's a bit of pig to get together, you'll need a tonne of patience, two tonnes of filler and a large supply of foul language. Trust the pom, I know of what I speak ;)

Just a question for the moderators - or anyone else who cares :)
Would this be allowed?
It only flew while tethered to the ground - and I don't think they actually found anyone brave enough to stand in the top drum at the time.
