Thanks very kindly. It is pretty much built as the vanilla kit at this point, I have some plans for additions and dressing which will push the creative side of things I hope!

Very darkest shading applied. Ill post all stages of this modulation process as a kind of 'review' of the ak modulation set I guess

Still having a little brush trouble with clogging, given it an extra clean this time.

And finally 'Drab Shine' just a dusting really..

Im pretty happy with the paint set, definitely gives an instant feel of shape and weight, looks better before any weathering than I am accustomed to.

Looking good dude. I've been using the wargames series to do modulation at 1:100 scale. Looks fantastic at 1:35 for sure!

Done some detail painting and added some initial damage and some lovely filth around the undercarriage as a start towards the weathering.

Funny you should say that, I'm about 1/3 the way through a TASCA Firefly at the moment, all thanks to Shaun, hope mine turns out looking as nice.

The kit as supplied does not have an external barrel for a mantlet gun (and other builds of the kit dont show one) and now it is mentioned I am finding that decidedly suspicious as most of the pictures I can find have them. hmm

Okay so I am now bit pissed off at Dragon. I simply cant find any backup for what they have done, which is a 1mm hole in the mantlet where the machine gun should project.

The best pictures I can some up with have a hole which would be maybe 1.7mm with the .30 cal gun in pierced sleeve(about 1.6mm diameter) projecting to about the first hole in the gun sleeve.

Which means I am going to have to drill it out and touch up the edge then put in a spare barrel (at least there is one on the sprues)

anyone wishing to tell me this is a stupid idea please feel free before I do it!

Most excellent work this. Crispy clean prior to weathering.
I agree with the Kiwimav. Destined for "out of the ballpark" stardom.

Terrible photo, will do more tomorrow

Basic weathering on.. some washes, chipping, streaking and pigments. Pretty much time to get into the scenery, final weathering will need to be done in place I think

Daylight picture.. There will be more mud and stuff around the tracks once in-scene, and I intend to add a few bits of gear (camo net, some boxes) but not too much as this is in-combat and most pics I see show not a lot of junk on the tanks once in action!

More 'Rust and Dust' and a few touchups on the colours here and there.

Today I hope to begin the scenic base, a bocage sunken road is the plan. Very daunting foliage!
