This group build is to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain. It will run from 10th of July to 31st of October, 2015, following the dates of the battle.

The build is open to any scale and any subject that played a role in the Battle of Britain. While the Battle of Britain is foremost remembered as an air battle, builds including figures (e.g. famous historical figures from the battle), vehicles and armour (e.g. AA guns) and dioramas (e.g. airfield dioramas) are eligible provided a documented link can be established.

The model must be built entirely within the build dates to qualify, and the build should be accompanied by a thread in the group build forum documenting regular progress. Post your sprues at the beginning of the thread! By the end of the group build (and no later than 24 hours after the completion date) participants should post five pictures of the completed build in the group build forum which will be organised shortly.

To discourage cynical entries the build is open only to those who have been members of KiwiModeller for two months at the start of the group build and with at least thirty posts in the forums. So lurkers, get posting now if you want to enter! I will also vet for cynical or “gaming” entries and vote rigging.

No entry fee will be charged, but this is a good opportunity to make a donation to the upkeep of KiwiModeller.

The winner of the group build will be decided by popular vote. Voting will run for the week following the 1st of November, ending Midday the 8th of November. A deadlock will be decided by a separate run-off vote.

So after much swearing and gnashing of teeth I have the fuselage together!! Next will be wings etc..I have to say..even tho I have only been back at this a few years...this is one of the worst fitting kits Ive built so far....Maybe I've just been a little spoilt...or maybe I'm getting pickier about how I work...Dunno....still sorta enjoying it tho..between the fits of rage!!!

Good you got there in the end, but that is an interesting gap on the bottom. How is the fit on the top of the cowling? I'd always assumed that these Eduard 109s were pretty good. :S

Can't fit the top cowl with the engine built...you have to choose either or... they provide instructions for both...could also be my lack of skills too!!

I know what you mean Nos... I thought having my Eduard 110 would be the bees knees, and that I would be able to put it together without a problem... there has been fit issues throughout, rather frustratingly. So I know the feeling!

Push through as you have been, and she'll be right mate. The engine really does look the buisness

These guys make outstanding PE. Their kits are less so. This looks very good.

Good work getting the engine to fit :S

I was just reading the link posted about the issues with the engine fitting. Your gap/fix doesn't seem to be as major as his was. You must have some good assembly skills/patience B)

I'll sneak out the easy way, and wont bother to assemble the engine

Probably the safer bet Andrew!! There seems to be a certain flow effect going on with the kit! Hoping to get the wings on today....Look forward to see how you get on taking the other route!

Well I can honestly say I don't think Ive ever enjoyed a build less than this! Everything forward of the cockpit has been an absolute nightmare fit wise with the engine there... the amount of grinding,Sanding and bending Ive done is rediculous to me..I still am unsure if its because of the resin or Ive buggered it up somewhere or its a kit Issue...probably a combo of all three!! Anyways hence the lack of progress posts....But I am now about ready to mask and prime...I think..maybe...yup...

Sorry bout the blurry pics...aint redoing them now!!!
Im hoping I will feel better about this when I paint!

Shame about the fit, good progress all the same. I think I'll steer clear of this kit.

His is an amazing story. To get all the way back and then to lose was a bit rough, but you get that. Looking like a 109 now
