This group build is to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain. It will run from 10th of July to 31st of October, 2015, following the dates of the battle.

The build is open to any scale and any subject that played a role in the Battle of Britain. While the Battle of Britain is foremost remembered as an air battle, builds including figures (e.g. famous historical figures from the battle), vehicles and armour (e.g. AA guns) and dioramas (e.g. airfield dioramas) are eligible provided a documented link can be established.

The model must be built entirely within the build dates to qualify, and the build should be accompanied by a thread in the group build forum documenting regular progress. Post your sprues at the beginning of the thread! By the end of the group build (and no later than 24 hours after the completion date) participants should post five pictures of the completed build in the group build forum which will be organised shortly.

To discourage cynical entries the build is open only to those who have been members of KiwiModeller for two months at the start of the group build and with at least thirty posts in the forums. So lurkers, get posting now if you want to enter! I will also vet for cynical or “gaming” entries and vote rigging.

No entry fee will be charged, but this is a good opportunity to make a donation to the upkeep of KiwiModeller.

The winner of the group build will be decided by popular vote. Voting will run for the week following the 1st of November, ending Midday the 8th of November. A deadlock will be decided by a separate run-off vote.

Does this kit by chance happen to have several different spinner types and/or props? Cause the trumpeter ones in my kit are horrendously shaped and apparently can be easily remedied by changing them with those out of the eduard kit...

Thanks mate, I think the spare spinner is the solid one which doesn't do me any good as I haven't seen an E3 with a solid spinner....
Thanks anyway though...

Cool Nos. Quite a few big guns in this GB I notice.
This looks an excellent choice and of course you'll do it justice.

I feel like I'm letting the team down for not doing any scratch building or adding aftermarket to my cockpit. TBH though if I did, it would just take me so much longer that I'd never finish the bloody thing. So I guess I'm ok with sticking with OOB for the majority of mine...

Everyone to their own Cyn. Mine is the most detailed I have ever attempted, as I normally have OOB builds, and most of my future ones will be also.

Good thing with this version of the Emil is that you don't need to try and match the cockpit colour to the pe colour, seeing as how the cockpit was RLM02 and the panel is RLM66... makes things easy cause eduards PE rlm66 is usually way too dark and blue compared to most 66's.... Looking forward to seeing it progress...

Good to see that there is plenty of room on the sprues for getting the parts off. Looks nicely molded.

It does, it looks very nicely molded and the aftermarket looks great.
Go Nos! You'll be fine.
If your experience of 1/32 is anything like mine you'll actually find it 'easier' in a funny kind of way.
Like painting a big canvas as opposed to a much smaller one.
1/32 is great for space and subtlety both.
You can get all your painting skills used in a whole 1/72 aircraft into just one panel!
Go for it man.
