So on Friday i got the decals through for the RNZAF T6A Texan.... couldn't resist got the IBEX kit out of the stash and started washing the sprues

I think a few of us have this kit, it has some nice and pretty accurate resin seats and some nice moulded turbine exhausts, the dry fit is excellent and wont require much if any filling. Decals are also available for the panels very nice!!!!!

so got to painting and doing the pit! very nice detail, will try a little micro masking to represent the panel

I'm not super good on detail but i'm liking how this is turning out, the cockpit decals took ages

yeah they are quite different, Texan is much smaller, the rear seat is much higher on the tucano, wheel base is much smaller on the Texan and less suited to rough field

tail is very different.... take a look

Cheers mate. They looked so similar I thought they must have been based on the same design, but nope. Just what you get when you chuck a turboprop up the front with a tandem cockpit.

So weights in nose on and blended (there was a slight gap) primer to make sure no seams....yes i'm going a bit paranoid

vac form canopy cut close, futured and masked, will need to sand the edges down put the canopy cross bar on place and glue to fuse and blend in, should not need too much as i really took my time cutting the canopy and refitting,... good news is they give you two if you f*ck the first one up .... so far so good.....
