This evening I finished painting the fuel tanks and masked and airbrushed the insignia under the starboard wing with a custom paint mix (72% XF-8 + 28% XF-1). I still need to spray the red bars. Not perfect, but it was hard to get the mask to fit perfectly where it crossed over that wing fold area.

Thanks guys.

Pretty much done, with just a couple more to go. Next step will be misting on some variations of the base colour to help blend them in a little.

This looks so impressive. I'm now of the opinion that the larger the scale the better things look.

Last night I hand brushed the 2nd coat of Klear on the airframe and undercarriage doors. Also put the Aim-7's together and tidied up the Aim-9's. Just need to add the fins and paint them up. No weathering for these as they didn't get that grubby. And it'll add a nice contrast against the aircraft. Looking forward to masking up and airbrushing that.

Will do mate. To be honest, building and painting weapons is the thing I find most tedious and boring about building kits. Give me canopies to mask any day :silly:

There are always boring bits... like assembling tracks, but if you get them right the whole model sings

Airbrushed the missiles gloss white last night. Used about half the bottle of paint to get coverage. Just sanded a couple of pieces of dust off and will give them a final coat tonight before masking and spraying the pointy ends.

Gave the missiles another coat of white, masked and sprayed the nose cones of the AIM-7's and applied decals (still need to apply the black bands), masked and painted the silver on the AIM-9s fins.
