Nice, I'm thinking of heading to Peleliu myself. I've got one vehicle 90% ready and looking for a second vehicle and a few other bits to accompany it :)

It's a wasted trip baby. Nobody said nothing about locking horns with no Tigers.

Hey cool Andrew. Two of us in the same patch of dirt in the same time frame. That will be interestting to see what we each come up with.

Here is a PTO Map to compliment the Big G1's one..

These following images are all from the internet and show the kits I will using. Once the build kicks in I'll put up Box and Sprue shots of the actual kits.

The Armoured USMC vehicle will be based off this . . .

Using these Verlinden sets to bring it up the vehicle I want to depict . . .

Yes, great idea, nice tank kitset and excellent selection of figures. I look forward to this with huge interest.
Any Japanese figures involved?
Somewhere I have seen that somebody like Dragon or MB has a hand-to-hand combat set with 2 Marines and 2 Japanese soldiers.
Might not suit your concept of course ...?
Cheers
Wally.

Yes, MB do two sets with Japanese figures and I do have the "Hand to Hand on Tarawa" kit but will not be using any of the Banzai Warriors in this build, mainly because from late '43 on Guadalcanal, they changed to night time attacks, so a different scene would need to be set rather than what I intend doing here.
Thanks for looking

I'm sure whatever you do will be great.
That photo of the Dozer tank up to its hatch in a furrow of its own making is pretty incredible! Great diorama stuff.
Peleliu was the subject of a couple of episodes of Speilberg's 'The Pacific' wasn't it? Crossing the airfield I seem to remember.

I have never seen Band of Brothers - "The Pacific" so cannot say. I am, though, reading the associated book authoured by the lead researcher for both series and we are pretty close to reaching Peleliu soon. I may have an answer later . . . ;)

And thanks for your confidence in my ability to not get a dio totally skewered . . .
I'm looking at putting the "Dozer" into something a bit like that with marines using the tank as cover or some such. Things change along the way

Thanks for lookin' Glen.
My dio will probably not be any larger than my North Afrika one in physical dimensions but potentially a lot more complex.
I'll need to create Blasted tree stumps and burnt underbrush and such along the way.
Sheesh, and I haven't built a tank kit for more than 30 years, and that would have been a 1/72nd something.
This will also only be my second use of Resin and PE aftermarket sets too.
Hey sorry that it's going to have "jungle" and "yanks" all over the place

I'm looking forward to the challenge though. :) And it's blimmin great to see so many coming on board for this GB too. There will be quite a range of stuff of excellent builds.

Cheers

Cheers for the comment Davey. Maybe I'll post something another day. There are quite a few members here with the same gong it should be noted. Good on ya lads.

So this is what just landed today . . .
Even though the kit DS tracks look pretty smart, I'm going to do my first ever Indi-Link ones for this build.

Attachment Bronco-T54E1IndiTracks.jpg not found

YIKES!!!
Approximately 415 pieces . . . . . . per track!
And some are really thin or really small, or both. Clear the decks!!
83 individual tread links with an outer tread plate and a seperate inside runner plate, 83 twin pivot pins, 83 guide horns/pivot pin bolt heads - inner + outer each side.

It might be fun

More to come . . .
