The subject of this group build is to take a model off your shelf that's been sitting there unfinished and finish it.
To start post photos of your model(s) in it's current state with a quick blurb of what version you were building and why it ended up abandoned. Then blog and post photos of you finishing it!
Extra kudos the older it is.

The headlight looks pretty bad.. I might make a canvas cover for it and some of the boxes?

Yeah it is a hard shell cover built into the kit. Pretty blobby looking though even if it is accurate-ish

Its 1/35 so its pretty tiny

You could actually drill the headlamp out and have it in broken in battle condition. Just a thought. This is starting to look great. Watching watching....

The head light looks like it is tilted upward ?. Should be a little lower than level. Or is it just the photo ? . If it is tilting upwards then tilting down a little would make the cover not so noticeable. Perhaps drilling it out and making a new cover out of something thin like tin foil may make it look better.

So I didn't at all take off the headlamp and mount it the right way up and at a sensible angle, and sort out the slot and joins. Honest. What kind of idiot would have done it wrong when it got broken and the glued it back together in the first place? ;)

Sorry fot the shitty mobile phone pic, real camera is strapped to a telescope!

lol only if the neighbours live in the horsehead nebula, but given the stupid stuff they do I wouldn't be surprised if they were from there.

So did an experimental plaster casting, working towards the dio. Wanted to make sure the shuttering would work and not stick.. in fact roughed up wood brushed with scenic cement (watered down pva) as a sealer/release worked superbly which is promising. I'm very pleased with the planking texture, I'm sure maarten would be proud of me hah.

Strange happenings..

Shuttered and cast the main body of a bunker. Learned a lot about what not to do (rely on pva glue to hold foamboard onto wood while plaster is poured into it for example!), made a lot of mess, emergency patched holes etc, and got SOMETHING out of the other end anyway.. Should look fine once it is completed, has the roof, is partly buried and is painted. hopefully.
