Thanks for the fangrost link, great source of info there.

Have to agree with you about DAS BOOT, it is the best war movie in terms of reproducing reality.

I just read about these Frangrost and the beams that lay across them. They were also called Frangrost bomb traps. The beams, as you showed in the previous drawing are upside down U-shaped to formed a wedge. Bombs would wedge in between them, though the bomb casings would crack their detonators were not be triggered.

I am enjoying learning from this project. I love submarines for some reason, so I have a particular interest in seeing this project unfold.

Side note: Maarten, I have seen all of the Hogan's Heroes series, but cannot figure out which scene Klink is in, in your avatar. Do you know?

Not Klink but another German from the best war movie made to this day '' DAS BOOT ''

Fangrost,
www.google.nl/search?q=fangrost&hl=nl&so...ygC&biw=1920&bih=910

On the Keroman III they were not finished just the support beams where build, wished they did finished them it would look even better and BIGGER.

Again as others have said this is amazing, and I didn't think you could top the temple build! amazing.

Right from the change of your avatar all I could think when I saw it was ... "AAAAALLAAAAAAAARMMM!!!!"

my favourite movie, I've watched it many times in English AND German.

Most pilots last words are "Watch this"

Nothing more to say other than stunning! Will you be mooring a Uboot or a Scnhellboot in this diorama by chance?

Believe it or not it is to SMALL for a u boot, Scnhellboot would be nice but i never seen or read that a Scnhellboot visited the lorient base.
I am thinking about a partly sunken ship in front of the entrance.

Not deep enough,
Remember my 1/35 scale waterline type VIIC/41 U Boot ? it measures .....1 meter and 92 centimeters long.

I have thought about it,but then you get an U Boot with two rear or two front conning towers,
I just situate bunker after august 44 when the last UBoot left the base

Started on the sunken typical European river barge, these are the basic shapes still need detailing.

And i began with the weathering with oils as you can see .
