The General was created by Gary
I was going to build the Williams BMW F1 car but as I don't have any of the right colours I decided to drag this one out the stash. It's the MPC 1/16 General Lee in all her glory from the original series.
I didn't have a print out of the build logo when I took these earlier. Not sure if I'll get it done on time but I'll give it a good go.

My Beloved loved this show. I never watched. This car is however, one of those awesome classics that everyone knows whether they watched the Dukes or not.

I'll try to do it justice :)
When I ordered the kit a while ago I made sure I got the "correct" paint as well so will be interesting to see how it turns out. I cleaned and primed the main body shell it took a lot of scraping and sanding to get rid of all the flash and junk. I've also scraped and filled the ejector pin marks on the underside of the chassis (I keep going to call it a fuselage lol )

Nice choice, I have that in the stash, how could anyone who was a child in the 80s not have one in some form.

Here I thought 1/16 F1 is big. I'd go nuts on that kit, full engine detail and working lights.

Odd but I never watched the program.
Yeah, I know. That's verging on social aberration for anyone under 25 in the 80s!

Interesting side note: the rarity of Challengers since is a direct result of the TV show. They trashed two or three per week, while filming.

Regards

On average it was 6 per episode, at least that's what my book "Star Cars" says.

Quick update, I've now finished the interior and I'm half way through the engine but I've not taken any photos this week. It's proving to be a right dog to build, probably one of the worst kits I've done in many years. Lots of flash, poor fitting parts and to top it all off it's completely wrong, it's just a friggin Nascar with a different body shell on it and some decals!! Anyway I think it will turn out ok as long as you don't look too close ;)

What did I miss?
Well she's a bright shade of Orange (Competition Orange to be precise) and the bodyshell is on, just the wheels and bumpers etc to go, followed by decals and possibly some subtle weathering here and there.

That's flipping awesome :)
Good to see the good old boys, the blonde one still looks young, younger than he did in Smallville.
