2018 is the Centenary of the formation of the Royal Air Force on the 1st of April, 1918. The build will run until February 1st 2019 and is open to any scale and any subject that represented the RAF, including aircraft, ground vehicles and equipment, or RAF personnel.
Ideally the model must be built in its entirety within the specified build dates and the build, but kits that have been part started can be entered at the discretion of the group build leader.
The build should be accompanied by a thread in the group build forum documenting regular progress. Post shots of your sprues or the current state of the build at the beginning of your thread.
By the end of the GB (and no later than 24 hours after the completion date) participants should post five pictures of the completed build in the GB completed builds thread.
There is no entry fee for the GB, but a donation for the upkeep of Kiwimodeller is always welcome.
Entrants who complete a build, post their completed pictures and reside in New Zealand will enter a draw to win a prize (Prize to be advised; one draw entry per person; entrant must reside in New Zealand to qualify for entrance in to the prize draw).

Finished pics in last post

So being awkward by nature I am not going to do a plane for this... but a quirky ground service vehicle, provided as part of the Airfix BoB kit.

many decisions yet to make, starting with how much mucking about to do from the kit version which is nice but a little simple in places.

I've put the basics of the chassis/drivetrain together.. just need to decide what if anything to enhance there. I'm definitely not spending time on the engine as that will be completely hidden.. some parts of the rest are visible though so might be worth a few pipes and straps and things?

Still plodding away at this one.. its a very neat kit, the interior is pretty minimal, Id like to fiddle but reference is REALLY hard to find for the interior, as in I can not find a single inside cab shot of an albion of this general type (excellent exterior pics are easy though)

I was thinking the RAF blue but it seems unrealistic after some research, the green/brown camo paint seems to have been done from the very start of the BoB so I guess Ill go with that.

Top choice for the build! Agree about odd looking, the proportions look really weird.

Dragged this back up for the last few days!

Not a thriller but it will be complete. added a little more detail to the pump, lots of painting and detailing to do plus the horror-show of the pipes and arms on the roof!

Further progress, really just the fuel hose arms on top to do and some extra dust etc.

Scratch/bash hoses built (shameful job by Airfix on the kit parts). Painting and detailing done with one or two tiny exceptions.

These are evening photos so will be better for the final

Thanks, they are 1mm diameter breadboard wires, which happen to be the right size, hold their shape and paint well. I carved the horn shapes from the original flat ended abominations with a knife. The wires are ship rigging line.
