× 2018 is the Centenary of the formation of the Royal Air Force on the 1st of April, 1918. The build will run until February 1st 2019 and is open to any scale and any subject that represented the RAF, including aircraft, ground vehicles and equipment, or RAF personnel.
Ideally the model must be built in its entirety within the specified build dates and the build, but kits that have been part started can be entered at the discretion of the group build leader.
The build should be accompanied by a thread in the group build forum documenting regular progress. Post shots of your sprues or the current state of the build at the beginning of your thread.
By the end of the GB (and no later than 24 hours after the completion date) participants should post five pictures of the completed build in the GB completed builds thread.
There is no entry fee for the GB, but a donation for the upkeep of Kiwimodeller is always welcome.
Entrants who complete a build, post their completed pictures and reside in New Zealand will enter a draw to win a prize (Prize to be advised; one draw entry per person; entrant must reside in New Zealand to qualify for entrance in to the prize draw).

So since this is a year long thing i may do two builds

1:32 EF2000 Two Seater
1:32 ECR Tornado - as a GR-1 Tornado (GulfWar)

These are them... may get some aftermarket nozzels for the EF2000 the kit ones are pretty pants

Could not resist .... bit of a tape up...

These are the decals i was thinking

I'm liking the GNA 75th anniversary scheme but the 100th scheme looks pretty cool to
I know i have the two seat... but hey...

Will be interest to hear about your thoughts on the Typhoon kit. I've been tempted by this one. Especially after this:

I read numerous reviews of both the revell and trumpy kits, the revell always just pips the trumpy kit for accuracy and build but looses out a bit on detail.

From the dry fit i don't expect much problems although this one will have FOD covers as the intakes look awful

Better do the official start photo.... today the cockpit!

So the aftermarket bits are are the eduard Exterior PE and the Aires Exhaust nozzles (the kit ones are really awful), and the Xtradecal set for the 100 anniversary scheme.

Hey they look nice! yes please i have some PE ones that came in the exterior set but the look like they won't fit in fact some of the shuff doesn't fit that well at all (and its for the revell kit) like the extra pylons too

Let me know how you want the funds.

I'll be back August 13th and probably heading to Wellington for work soon after. Alternately, Richard Alexander is coming with me to the US, so could also give to him to take down when he goes home.

Nah August is good and i really appreciate this! i've hit a point with the intakes where i may take a week or so off because they are f-ing me off.

Did the canopy tho... knew i have to face that both have a massive seam line... i mean come on!

But Tamyia polishing compound is literally magic ....wow - this is the Before photo!!! after the scraping

Bit more work on this got all the bits sanded down and a test coat of primer on, also decided to liven up that rear cockpit wall,...the cockpit id choka with parts but that bit is left blank!, so checked a few photos of the cockpit and saw it had a few conduits running behind the seat and some quilting do i bodged a few things up using metal tape.

Nearly put the canopy on before doing the cockpit photo so forgive the glue in the shots and terrible pics, i was on a roll (the glue is a ]mixture of plastic glue and PVA for sealing and adhesive)

How’s this for the global reach and instantaneousness of the interwebs. Sitting with Mike at Phase Hangar and your Typhoon bits have just been cast as promised and, as als promised, at no cost.
