January 17th 2016 will mark 25 years since the US-led Coalition began airstrikes in a prelude to boots on the ground to force the withdrawal of Saddam Hussein’s Iraqi forces from Kuwait. To mark the 25th Anniversary, we will be commencing a Kiwimodeller Group Build, beginning January 17th 2016, and finishing on the 15th of July 2016.
The build is open to any scale and any subject that played a role in Operation Desert Storm. This includes Iraqi forces. The model must be built in its entirety within the specified build dates and the build should be accompanied by a thread in the group build forum documenting regular progress. Post shots of your sprues at the beginning of your thread.
By the end of the GB (and no later than 24 hours after the completion date) participants should post five pictures of the completed build in the GB completed builds thread. There is no entry fee for the GB, but a donation for the upkeep of Kiwimodeller is welcome The winner of the group build will be decided by popular vote.
Voting will run for the week following the 15th of July, ending Midday the 22nd of July. A deadlock will be decided by a separate run-off vote.
Decals on the interior. Just need to sort stowage. Going to be pretty basic, couple of water cans, 50 cal, tripod, and some ammo boxes. I wasn't going to, but I've decided to order a set of Live Resin M548 ammo boxes. I also found a M16A1 with M203 40mm that I'll sit in the cab too
Need to push on with this one, not too long until the GB ends
So I got my fees back from TM for the steering wheel. He never paid, and stopped contact. Checked his TM profile/feedback, and the cheeky prick had committed to buying a PS3 at the same time as he was supposed to be paying me. Relisted, and sold less than 3 days later. The guy picked it up and paid cash last night
So have ordered the Tamiya modern accessories set which has several of the Mk. 548 ammo cans for the 40mm grenades from BNA, which will hopefully be here by the end of the week
What a pain, but least if it works for you On the game I race on the PC (Assetto Corsa), it changes the control of the gears depending on what car you're driving. If it's a manual gear box with clutch, it will use that, if it's a supercar with paddles, it uses that. It's just weird having the shifter on the opposite side of the in game video lol. I prefer to have it on the side I would normally drive with it.
