NASCAR Group Build
Start Date: 23/11/2015
End Date: 21/11/2016

Boogity, Boogity, Boogity! Let's Go Racing Boys!! A famous cry as millions of viewers across America, and the rest of world tune in to watch the high adrenaline sport of NASCAR racing

We will be commencing a Kiwimodeller NASCAR Group Build, beginning 00:00 Monday 23rd November and running through to 23:59 21st November 2016

The build is open to any scale, but is limited to vehicles from the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and NASCAR Xfinity Series. Historical NASCAR vehicles are also eligible

The model must be built in its entirety within the specified build dates and the build should be accompanied by a thread in the group build forum documenting regular progress. Post shots of your sprues at the beginning of your thread. By the end of the GB (and no later than 24 hours after the completion date) participants should post five pictures of the completed build in the GB completed builds thread.

There is no entry fee for the GB, but a donation for the upkeep of Kiwimodeller is welcome

The winner of the group build will be decided by popular vote. Voting will run for the week following the 18th of September 2016, ending Midday the 25th of October 2016. A deadlock will be decided by a separate run-off vote.

Moderators for the GB will be Andrew and Ian

Haha enough to keep me busy for the next 6 months. Just need to stay focused

It is kind of good, because if I get bored/frustrated with one subject, I can move to something else for a bit :)

Ok, the kit has arrived safely B)

Compulsory pics

And that will be as far as it gets for a while. I thought there would be decals for most of the colour variation on the paintjob, but you are expected to feather white, yellow, red and medium blue, then add a 1mm white stripe across it :pinch: Not me

Will order some AM Slixx decals for it. Eying up this set

I really like the engine colour. Hey have you got a spray booth now? I've got to sort something out for inside painting. Winter has put everything bar the Tiger on hold. I just can't spray outside.

No spray booth yet Tony. I was going to make one with a kitchen extractor fan, but have decided against it. l

Looking at one of these

In the mean time I've been painting in the garage doorway :woohoo: Dodging rain

They are a good little spray booth.

I got one off them and used it for a year or so, but then removed the booth part and built a bigger wooden one and used the filter/fan.

That's a great idea Michael. Ive been thinking about how to get a slightly bigger booth. One thing about those trademe booths I wish was better was the suction. They are pretty decent for the price though and you can't really do better building yourself Andrew unless you spend a shed-load of money
