What else would you need to define a helicopter? It has a single rotor that is vertically mounted and lifts in a vertical manner, its exactly what I imagine the first helicopters would of looked like.

It looks good to this moderator. Anything with a rotor and intended for VTOL flight is good enough for me. We are a friendly GB encouraging as many participants as possible. B)

Cheers guys.
I'll clear a few builds off the bench first but in a month or two I should be able to get something underway.

There have been some pretty good helicopter builds that are finished now and some pretty good builds that are still in progress. Now would be a good opportunity to reveal the helicopter kit prizes that are on offer given this GB concludes at this year's Armistice Model Show in Cambridge on 12 November 2016. The helicopter GB Build entrant judged best overall on the competition table by the Competition Judges wins this kit:

In addition, there is the online Helicopter GB competition running also which will conclude on 12 November 2016 as well. You will have up until midnight on 12 Nov 2016 to post five images of your Helicopter GB in the completed helicopter builds thread so it can be judged by KM forum participants. The prize for the helicopter model attracting the most votes will win this kit:

Good luck and we look forward to seeing more completed helicopter builds in the coming months.

Awesome, thanks Steve that's really good of you.
Fark now I think I need to step away from the current stuff and build something that resists gravity
I think I'll post the options here and get some feedback.
