After moving house and all that it entails, I'm really happy to get back to the bench once more. Hardest part of returning to the workbench was I never finished the main under carriage a month ago and picking it up again yesterday mean't having to reacquaint myself with the tangled madness of hydraulic and electrical lines. Got stuck in yesterday and I've finished most of the detailing on the main undercarriage legs. Just a few grease points and cable strap tension what-knots to add and I'm back to the airframe.
Hi peeps, I'm still chewing away at this elephant of a project. Crew now painted and office is complete (enough!) ready for canopy to be glued down. Only point I'd like to make is the Aires aftermarket pit is really designed to be left with lid up. Numerous areas and parts foul with plastic kit parts preventing the canopy from closing properly and much resin paid for was either thrown away or drilled away. I still like the end result, just smarting from the punishment to get to this point.
So an interim update: Kit is now in the paint shop.... it's so big, it's more like painting a house! That is an A2 cutting mat underneath my model btw .
I've not worked out whether to decal straight onto semigloss Mr Color that it's currently being painted with or X-22 gloss coat this sucker and then decal it. Gloss coat will no doubt demolish at least one jar of clear! Any opinions about decalling directly onto semi-gloss Mr Color warmly welcomed and appreciated.
