The table has tools, but looks too bare. Why is the drill handle pointing that way and not towards the side the mechanic would be reaching from. I mean, the whole thing is utterly brilliant, but the table isn’t telling me a story like everything else is .... but that’s just me...

Yes he would be reaching for the handle,it would be against the stop,he has just touched the handle with his fingers and about to pull against the return spring,has elbow will bend as he handle comes down,so them his elbow would be at his side.
He does not need to grip it like a hammer handle,gentle downward movement....... should the bench look like this.....
