Trumpeter 1/48 Wellington Mk III was created by Andrew
This is going to be my entry for this GB B)

Need to sort some paints, and make a final decision on the markings. Thinking of 75 Squadron from oldmodels

It's a wasted trip baby. Nobody said nothing about locking horns with no Tigers.

Good one Andrew! I want to make one of these one day too.
I understand its an excellent kitset from reviews I've read.
75 Squadron's the one to do IMHO.

Thanks guys :)

Was put onto the kit by G1, said they are a very nice kit.

Yes Wally, think it will have to be 75 Squadron :woohoo:

Kind of itching to make a start on it

Cool, I look forward to seeing this go together. I've been tempted to do one of these myself but the size and the overdone fabric does put me off.

No build progress on this one

Been researching paint etc and reading several other build logs for tips

I've ordered a Eduard cockpit zoom set. I've read that assembling the instrument panel as per the kit instructions (sandwich of plastic/decal/plastic) hides all the bezel detail  This has been despatched, hopefully arriving early next week.

I've also orders a set of Oldmodels 1/48 75 (NZ) Squadron Wellington late decals. I'll have another sit and look at the RNZAF serials page to try and pick a particular aircraft to model

Update time

Decals and cockpit PE arrived

But upon opening the PE when I began construction, something was amiss

The seller sent the correct item, but Eduard had put the wrong PE sheet in the outer pack. I contacted Eduard customer services, and within 15 minutes, they had arranged to send me a replacement free of charge.

In the meantime I pushed on with cockpit assembly

Some progress

Cleaned up the sprue gates on both sides of the fuselage this afternoon. Then started working on the front turret.

I did make a start on the wheels, but am weary of using the supplied vinyl tyres in the kit, so have ordered a set of 1/48 Wellington wheels from BrenGun

Little update here.

Working on fitting the Master barrels to the front turret guns. Got the first one in, but needed a new drill bit. I've drilled out too many fruil links and have made it far too blunt. Have a new 0.6mm now, so should be good to go later tonight. The barrel looks a little wonky, I'll superglue them in once I've painted the exterior

I got a parcel from Eduard today.

Instead of replacing the incorrect zoom fret, they gave me the whole cockpit interior set B) Though I don't know if I'll use any of it apart from the IP

Going to make a big push on the weekend with this one. Weather forecast is looking promising to get some paint down on Saturday

Well it looks like this will be another plane I don't finish in time for a GB  might have to re evaluate entering aircraft builds

Been making some progress on this one, got some black paint on parts of the cockpit, ready for the PE

Started work on the engines  a lot of sanding and filing to get these parts to fit

Nice work mate, hope you get to finish this regardless. I feel the same as you and I'm thinking of just building things at my own pace instead of trying to build things to a deadline.
