Hi,

I'll make an initial entry with the HP Hampden. The venerable Airfix kit.

I'll go for one of the RAF Bomber Command Schemes and build it pretty much OOB apart from some Falcon Canopies which I'll use. I'll have a go at improving the base kit with regular techniques but I might use a couple of resin engines...

Cheers

John

Tooled in 1968 (I love Scalemates), that means the kit itself even qualifies for Gary's 1969 cut off date :)
Great choice and I'm sure you'll do a great job of it - just steer clear of that Swedish scheme, I just googled it

Righto..

here is a bit of a start..

Initial image with 'logo' which for some reason we have to post...

I have begun my scrubbing all of the Airfix Rivets from the airframe and re riveting with the Trumpeter Tool... This has been fun.. I've also added in some detail in the cockpit and added some big shims of plastic card to sort out the huge gaps between wing and fuselage. I'll pin these with brass rod as the tabs were making the fit very poor.

The tail is also assembled riveted and i added the ribs back in that i removed when I sanded the rivets off with some stretched sprue..

Fun time ahead..

John

It's just so that we can see the progress of the kit at the start, it stops someone rocking up with a semi completed build and just putting up their in progress builds.
It also shows that it was built for this Group Build and not for another site.
We just want to make sure we level the playing field as much as possible, it's not too much to ask really, considering that there are prizes involved. ;)

I believe he was being witty, it had nothing to do with your build and everything to do with my comment. :)

Your comment explaining about the reasoning behind the need to use a logo on this GB???

You seemed to question the need to use a logo on this GB (the bit I quoted), so I thought I was helping, nothing more.
