Cool work Grant. Are you finding the modelling therapeutic in your op recovery....?

Yeah, it's been good. I've got five more weeks to fill and I've been told not to work.My plan these days s a morning clinic first thing, then coffee and some modelling. Looking forward to starting the Harrier after this. I've also ordered some stuff for the train layout to move that along.

Your progress sounds great, considering what you've just had done. Are you allowed to drink coffee, I bet booze is off the menu, not that it's such a bad thing compared to the alternatives.
Modelling is so therapeutic, it really helped me after surgery and I know it's used in various VA hospitals in the US.

Thanks. Attitude counts for a lot I think. It sounds cliched but the last year has given me a real shake up and makes me want to make the most of things from here on.

Decaled and glossed ready for some weathering. Further detail parts will go on last. Don't look too close.

Shelf of doom model. It's about 80% done, just needs some gaps where the deck meets the hul filled, the details parts, weathering and rigging (and all the dust washed off  ). I put it on the workbench to nag at me. Not really sure why I didn't finish this. It was a while ago and expensive compared to the other kits I was buying. Maybe I didn't think I could make a good job of it. I have an Academy 1/32 F-16 in a similar state.

Nice (and quick!) progress on the A4.. looks great so far.
Also like the look of your King George... I'd be very happy if I could achieve something half as tidy as that! You must finish it!

Finishing this off. Gluing on the underparts:

Adding fiddly bits:

My hands were particularly shaky.

I've since given it a flat coat and painted some of the small details. Completed build to follow.

It's finished. I'm waiting on some good light to take pictures. It as a fun build cutting the kit up and making details. Ordinary result though, I'd like to tackle this subject again with a better kit in a bigger scale.

It worked excellently. You need a reasonably steady hand to apply but it was so much quicker than masking with tape. It also allows easy touch ups in case you need to reapply. I'll use it again.

Good to know Grant! How does it compare to other masking fluid?

I had previously used the Mr Hobby stuff it seemed to go off too quickly and was too thick. This seemed more fluid and workable.
