In the Market for 1:48 Scale Gas Bags.... was created by Flying_Kiwi
I'm looking to acquire quite a few (at least 6) the 150L (570 Gallon) drop tanks in 1:48.... if you've got spares about i'm happy to pay to take them off your hands.

Cheers all

When my Squawk kit turns up you can prob have mine. I was maybe going to do either a centreline tank only or no gasbags so I probably won't need them. I'll get in touch when it turns up.

150 Gallon tanks in 1/48 are pretty much aftermarket. The Hasegawa kit tanks are 300 Gallon tanks so no good for what FK is after. I believe there may be some in the old Revell Skyraider? But your best bet is to try and find 3 sets of the TwoMikes resin tank sets.

If you have a need for parts for your Skyhawk build, post a request here and between the participants, someone may have some spares that will help.

Just re-read your post FK and realised you got the measures mixed up. Skyhawk tanks are 150 Gallons, 300 Gallons and 400 Gallons (note that the 400 Gallon tanks, contrary to popular lore, are only cleared for carriage on the centreline pylons of the A-4 - they were never used underwing).

So your post should be 150 Gallon tanks (570 litres). :)

The B&H Special (aka Golden Skyhawk) does indeed have 150 gallon tanks.

NZ6209 has 300 gallon tanks under the wings and a 400 gallon tank on the fuselage centreline.

Unfortunately, while all of these tanks were available in 1/48 and very accurately done by TwoMikes, he has semi-temporarily shut up shop. They can still be found around the traps, and are the best way to get a consistnet set of drop tanks in 1/48.

In 1/72, all of the tanks, including a buddy store for air to air refuelling, are currently available as aftermarket resin (and beautifully detailed and moulded) produced by Arma Hobby/Attack Squadron ( www.armahobby.com ), but just note that their shipping is a little high. I just ordered a pair of their buddy stores in 1/72 for my KC-97 and the whole order for 2 tanks and postage came in around NZ$40.

Not a request, but an offer. As I've got the machined barrels for my 1/32 A-4 build en route, I'm offering the White metal guns from my kit to anyone who would like them. First PM I receive NOTE PM, not thread reply, can have them.

Need a part for my squawk build. Hasegawa 1/48 a-4e/f part D7. I had cut mine off the sprue to check how the fit was and I'm sure i put it in the box afterwards but do you think I can find it anywhere? It's the starboard fairing for when the guns aren't fitted so I'm picking anyone who has a squark that they are building armed will have these spare as they will use the gun fairings. Thanks in advance for any help.

Just thought I'd add this. After building more than a few A-4's in 1/72, I've built up a wee spares holding. If anyone sees anything they like let me know and I can send it your way :)
