Couple more hours today and now all the fujimi interior is in,(well its blutac'd in atm) Bit of trimming, adding plastic and removing some but it's in and looks not to bad to me. Now just got to smooth out some bits with putty and it'll be paint time.
I had a S3 RX-2 sedan many years ago and my brother had a S1 RX-7 with a 12A stage 3 bridgeport.
Going for Mach green met which is what Arii have tried to replicate on the box, And the wheel centres most likely gold or yellow. But have just noticed that the wheels on the other one are the same so might look at swapping the wheels on one of them.
Hasegawa do the 60s cosmo but i've never really like them,
Tamiya did a S1 and S3 RX-7 but havent reissued them for awhile.
Koda did an RX-2 coupe but no one has released it since the company closed that i know of.
Doyusha did an RX-3 and RX-5 but again havent reissued them for awhile
I have these two, Yamada one is very basic and 1/22nd the fujimi one is a cool kit pretty well detailed and was offered as the late 12A one or the early 10A same kit just the different nose cone and tail lights. The flares and spoilers are separate parts so you can make it as a standard road car.
Best bet for some new ones would be Aoshima or Hasegawa with their Historic car series i would think they just released a BMW 2002 turbo and a 70's RS civic
Got the colour on the body and the base colour on the interior. I have gone with the black option and for those who don't know the black interior on these was just that all black no other colours so will make for a bland finish.
Well after i don't know how many months i managed some time in the model room this weekend everything was where i left it too
I managed to get the interior assembled the trims painted on the body and the gold on the wheels which wasn't that easy. Only a few small bits left to do but i have had to order some paint and glue as mine had dried up. So did some more on the race car instead.
A basic kit with terrible fit. And the black plastic and vinyl interior that these cars had made for a bland out come there, but i'm pretty happy with the out come. No fancy camera in our house so these are the best i can do at this stage.
