Hull and deck primed ,was a smooth build,no imperfections that needed attention ,
Now i can add the smaller details,
Starting to look like a Kriegsmarine boat .

Pre-shaded over the light grey primer,

Ready for the actual paint scheme ....of an overall light. grey boat with a greenish grey camo band all around the upper part of the conning tower and a darker grey (Than the overall boat )band under it.
Something like this ,

And this is the painted mascote for the U-20,this wil be in front of the conning tower ,Got the drawing from a book and had a decal/transfer made off it

I Sprayed the wooden deck several different shades of brown (to get a pre weathered look)
When its fully cured i will spray some black over it ..........
and this will be mostly rubbed away and finished with several washes to complete the weathered look of the deck.

Railing around the AA gun container position ,
Made a jig for it So it will stay in place when the glue cures.
The railing came out nice ,
still need to add rod-bracing to the vertical posts.

I made one Horseshoe lifebuoys from miliput.... and and from this one a rubber mold and cast two ( the rope is added )

Both Sides done.
Think it looks really good....i have to admit these were the hardest parts to make..... for some strange reason.
from now on its plain sailing .

All major construction is over,
Next to do are the cables that run from the bow over the conning tower to the aft.

Prep work for the washes.

Black and dark grays over AK chipping fluid..... most of it removed with a brush an a cloth, didn't want to add to much scratching because this supposed to be weatherd by the salt of the sea and walking by the crew.

This is covered with a Matt varnish ,Next weathering step is applying washes .
