I know the deadline for the GB has passed, but what the hey

I had a dig through the stash, and have come up with this

The story goes, after the collapse of the Soviet Union in the early 90s Yuri Orlov approached the NZDF who were on the lookout for a mobile ATGM vehicle. The BRDM-2 appealed with it's amphibious abilities, and being wheeled vehicle rather than tracked. This one will be built as the pre delivery sample for evaluation, before entering service :silly:

It's being built OOB at this stage, I'm still tossing up replacing the vinyl tyres with resin ones though.

Here's progress pics of the build so far

Still deciding on a colour/camo scheme for it

It's a wasted trip baby. Nobody said nothing about locking horns with no Tigers.

Small update B)

Now the Olympics has finished, I'll probably spend a bit more time in the model room :woohoo:

Been working on the lower hull earlier tonight, attaching suspension and drivetrain. A few more hours should see it finished and ready for paint :cheer:

Small update :)

Still going with construction, not as much time in the model room as I would like, that is set to change with my daughter going to daycare for an extra 3 hours a week starting next week :woohoo:

I've only got the bow plate, the missles pods and the wheels left to add.

I'm hoping to get it finished this weekend, but with the All Blacks on, and visitors due Saturday night, time might not be so kind

Update time B)

I managed to get some time at the bench, and I made the finial push to complete construction. I did have to take a backwards step and remove and reglue a part I had glued on upside-down (Thanks DML instructions  )

I'm quite happy with it :) This vehicle will probably be the first painted with the new AB compressor I ordered today :woohoo:

Now the next dilemma, finish an already started kit from the shelf of shame, or crank into a new build :dunno: Though I do think I already know the answer to that

Still deciding Gaz :dunno:

I think I might have to hit the reference library for some ideas and inspiration

Fair enough. I knew you were gonna start something new instead getting something from the shelf of shame...

I think you should do something modern as opposed to WW2... Maybe an abrams or newer russian vehicle (other than this one of course...)

I don't have that much modern stuff in the stash :S I do have a DML M1A2 SEP, but am not in the mood for that.

I was leaning towards an Italeri LCVP, but have found a scene I want to recreate, and need another kit that I don't have for that (budget isn't going to allow for it for a while)

I might build a Tamiya Jeep B)

What else did you need for the lcvp dio?
A jeep would be a good little distraction though...

An Italeri WC 54 Ambulance B)

It seems they are fairly rare at the moment, going for around US$50 including shipping. I don't want to fork out big bucks for one, then find Italeri re-release it

Update time :)

Took advantage of the sunny day yesterday to get some primer down on a couple of projects.

First up was this one, a coat of matt black primer applied

Another one back down from the shelf of shame...

You did all this yesterday, didn't you? Cause the rain and the gale force winds today look nothing like the nice sunny weather in your photos...... ;)

Is the black just a rattlecan black?

I don't know whether it is a good or a bad thing to have the time since last update lol 5 months +

While spraying The JSU-152 with NATO Green, I thought I'd give this a coat too

I'm in two minds now whether just to finish this in USSR or Eastern German markings
