Gee I didn't realise you'd made the second one already. Nice idea for a diorama, though I think the figure in the background needs some work... hard night drinking perhaps? Anyway, will you include the girl in the shot. The building and street are coming along very nicely in deed.

looking good glen love the cobblestone paving/road, and the building is great also, you need a table and chairs some where for a laid back feeling with maybe a couple sitting there having a glass of vino??

Thanks for the postive feed back guys :)
What I am looking at is the two stug crews have stopped for a bit of R&R in rome, and found some wine and company.

Tony, yes I want to include the lady, but got to go and find a figure to suit.

Micky,I am going to build the inside of the resturant, have a bar, seats, tables etc,and build the upstairs section, and side street, going to have around 10 figures inside and out.

This resturant is still trading in rome,I had a look around on google earth street view,it has not changed much in 70 years

Still trading!? Man, I was lucky enough to get a trip to Rome on business last year - if I'd have known I would've gone in for a quick meal!

I am told it is where all the famous people go when in rome,I may try and contact the owners and see if they have any other info about its history

Yep, lucky alright. Had some time to mess around by myself, saw the ancient capital etc. Our host took us out to dinner at his mates restaurant a couple of times...I have never eaten so well!

Those shutters are looking the bomb mate!! How long did the right hand one take?

Thanks Guys :)
They are about 30 parts in each one,but dont take to long to make, double sided tape is my friend.

Good idea, casting them would be the way to go.Not sure if I can wait for a resin kit.
Only 2 to go :silly:

Thanks for the positive comments guys, this is turning out to be a bit bigger build than first thought :hairpull:
Got lots of bits and bobs on the way to bring it alive, tables chairs etc.
The street section has been in the chop shop and hoping to get some paint on this weekend, and get the building glued to the base.
I also see a few repairs need after posting photos,Dam photos show up all the mistakes.

The house will look great with chairs tables etc...We must be our own worst critics because i cant see anything wrong with it in the pics
Awesome work :cheer:

Chears, street section is a kit from miniart, had to made afew mods to it to make the foot path go around the corner of the building,in my last post, the first photo shows which ones i scratch built, made with 1mm plastic sheet and scribed out cobbles and then built up with house paint,to give that rounded look.

I have found a female figure to go in my Dio,started painting her face, bit different than painting the faces of a male soldiers.
