Today I weathered the track and added some grass. The hills will have static grass applied, but I really like how the flock looks on the front of the layout so I might leave it like that. This scene is coming together nicely in my opinion. A desolate mountain siding Arizona. Just needs telephone poles, junk, cactus, a coyote...
Also, I've always loved the look of track work since I started out in this hobby as a kid, and this kicks ass:

I'll probably get more than $50. I was just self-handicapping to reconcile myself with not getting a lot for it. We really need the space in the garage now. The problem is that there is a very small (and maybe shrinking) market of people interested in this kind of thing. In terms of materials this one did not cost a lot. The biggest expense was the hundreds of hours of labour, but I enjoyed that so it doesn't feel like a cost.
It's a real shame you have to sell it Grant. I guess it'd be worth more sold off in parts, but could you bring yourself to pull it apart? I don't think I could if I were in your shoes. I hope you get something much closer to what it's really worth.
