If you were at the Taupo Model X last weekend you'd have seen me tinkering with a few Ferrari kits - all of them are on the bench together, but I'll just post the Tamiya F40 here for now as I don't want to be a 'forum hog'.

I marked-off then sanded down all the mold seams at the show with Tamiya 400 then 600 grit sanding sponges and yesterday evening I primed the shell with Tamiya grey straight from the rattle-can. Just before dinner this evening I lightly rubbed-back the primer with some 2000 grit wet'n dry and a little water.

Ready now for the Tamiya fine white primer coat. Busy weekend for me so may not get any cave-time so progress pics as soon as I can, likely to be early next week.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Lovely car, Ian.
Ferrari's road-legal go-cart.
B)

My favourite Italian, too. Had the big, assembly-required Pocher once.
Wish I hadn't sold it.

Ross

Engine done, still need to add the etch 'heat tray' and the intercoolers but thought y'all may like to see it as it is right now:

Tamiyas engineering here is exquisite, such complicated and complex shapes and it all fits together effortlessly.

After a lay-off for five weeks, some stickers happened over the last few days:

Printed by Cartograph, these decals are just incredible. tiny amount of tidying & touching-up to do on the bonnet 'Shell' logo, the intakes and the vents below the rear wing.

More very soon.

Couple of little touch-ups on the red stripes, but otherwise we're done.

As ever thanks for all the interest, comments and support along the way. Have a tussle now between doing a Mikey Waltrip 2002 NASCAR build or a 2015 Porsche GT3 R in a very striking paint scheme as my next race car, next non-racer will be another Ferrari.

More pics in the Showcase section.

Oh that's come out really nice Ian. A lot nicer finish than I thought when I just saw the yellow and white body. The decals really tie everything together.
