So after my primer boo boo have started to get stuck into this model. The Countryman WRC was Mini's shortlived re-entry into the top tier of the WRC back in 2012. For this kit I've shed my Tamiya acrylics after not enjoying them and have instead purchased Vallejo Model Color, which I'm enjoying working with much more.

Boxes, Decals and Sprues. Feels like a standard Airfix kit, will expect the fit to be quite good since its a relatively recently designed kit.

These parts were primed a week ago and today consisted of painting the firewall and floor a gloss white and the spotties silver. This will still need a few more coats, but I've always had issues with getting the Tamiya White to apply.

Hoping tomorrow to finish the coats of white and get stuck into the struts and suspension.

Today I prep'd the pedals, gear shift etc as well as put the suspension in, the struts could do with a bit of a touch up. The instructions call for the wheel wells to be painted matt black, however I really don't think that is appropriate so I dug through my paints and ended up with a 1:1 ratio of Tamiya Metallic Grey and Flat Black. Which I'm quite happy with. One thing I did miss is I buggered up the rear a little bit and you can see the unpainted section, this won't be an issue once the wheels are on though.
