Added some Mr Metals buffable paint to the weapons, radiator and the toes.
File Attachment:

Really happy with the paint. It has some nice depth, looks a little grey in places but should be good on the base.

Hoses in place

And some klear brushed onto the pit ready for a bit of weathering, hopefully later tonight.

It really is. I love the colour you've used on the weapons. I use matt black and graphite powder

Great thing about Mr Metals, is that you can buff them to create difference finishes. I usually have given extra attention to surfaces and edges that would see more wear.
File Attachment:

To weather the pit, I used AK washes which are solvent based. Following a tutorial I brushed odorless thinner on first to help the wash spread and move into the crevaces

Nice job mate... I've done the tooth pick trick as well in the past... with varying degrees of success   Yours looks much tidier though.
The buffable paint looks great too... I wonder how well it would work on larger surfaces such as the rear end on an F-100 or F-15 etc.
Looking awesome!

Cheers K2 and James. I think it would work really well on a nice sized F-15. Especially an E with the exposed actuators. Most of the goodness would come from the buffing

This is what I done on the back of my F-15 - pretty sure this was with XF-56 (trying to remember off the top of my head) - no buffing, and was sprayed on.

The bleeds and that have been fixed, this was sprayed on first on the underside lol.

K2, if you order something from BNA, make sure to put a pot of Mr Metal in some shade. I swear you will never use Tamiya metallics again. www.bnamodelworld.com/gunze-sangyo?alpha...1&scales_filter_id=0

Thanks Glenn. I'll PM you about that snow stuff for the base.

I decided out of necessity (I forgot to paint them) to use a Metal paint on these skidplates. Now I want to do a whole AT-ST in metals

And suddenly she's kinda finished. I have thought about weathering it with a wash, but I dont think it needs it. The paint work is kinda weathered by itself. Let me know what you think. Happy for ideas.

All that work on the cockpit and you can't see a thing. I don't want to have the hatch at the top open though, that feels silly

Need to do the base and I'll give it a few days to decide if I should do anything else or put a matte coat on
File Attachment:

Woohoo. Loved this build, and I do want to do another. I'll probably get another Bandai kit to do first though. Maybe another Tie Fighter to go with my Fine Models one.

It's turned out looking brilliant mate. Lots of depth to it and the metallic paint really sets it off.
I'd be hesitant to try doing anything else to it until you've sorted a diorama to place it on if that's what you were intending.
Really nice job!

Cheers guys. Yeah I'll probably do a little bit more to it. I don't know if I'll add the decals, I don't think it needs them. Maybe a little bit of rust effect, although I'll want to test on something else first

I think I got this kit for about $45 from Mighty Ape. I think it's well worth it for the quality of plastic and engineering, but keep your eye out. A little bird said there might be one coming up as a prize soon here on the forums.
