Trumpeter 1:16 Panther and Pz iv j Beob wg build

The few days I’ve been doing everything but welding Tigers as it is so boring and frustrating at times. Instead I’ve been sorting a new cupola for the Pz iv j as the StuG one from the kit is pretty poor. I’ve given up on artillery and will make a Befehls panzer instead. The j will be a mid j so the cupola has a hinged hatch as per h. The kit came with many of the components, thank goodness, so it’s just been a matter of making the barrel and armour. These shots show the progress till last night. I’ve gone a little further adding more clarity to the upper ring of armour and reducing the total height by 1mm. Happy now so I’ll paint the interior and prime the exterior and it can then sit and wait for the build. DML provided, yet again, the 1:35 scale double to copy.

Let me look at things, I did just put in a recapture system to try to stop spammers, I got tired of getting 20+ new accounts created every day and having to delete them before they post their porn and crap here.

No and when I pressed cancel to make it post it went to your speed test photo which it has done a number of times. Not your posting box but the photo you have in your footer. Weird.

It is funny as the photo is there, but is being covered over with just bits of it showing. Spam protection?

If you right click on an image and say open in a new tab it does the same thing, that should be taking you directly to the image without any interferance from spame protection etc.
There is however an issue with Timing out, which I need to get to the bottom of, oh the joys of runnning a website.

If I delete all the previous posts about the issues (assuming this message goes through ok) would you mind reuploading them. I'm hoping that it's fixed as I just posted without a timeout and Terry just posted a boat load of images without corruption, fingers crossed here I go hitting the Submit button.

Hosting company says it's all fixed so if you could edit and reupload the images that would be super.
I'll clean up the thread once its working, thanks for the patience everyone.

Slow as a wet week, but I’ve reduced to the photo to medium and there it is on its side. At least I can get the photos up.

Going to try an update post. Bring the iv up to speed with the Panther so I can just jump straight in after the Tigers, well even before. The kit is thankfully the right basic shape, but there is a LOT to do on it to get it up to speed. The rain guards around the forward crew hatches are gone and will be replaced by later ones. The forward hull splash guard (shells not rain), has also been changed from Trumpeter’s fantasy item. The third door on the engine deck has been removed and the first stage of the braces added. The one the radiator attaches to has lots of work to be done on it yet. The firewall has been stripped and filled with the horrid hatches removed and new ones made. I bought pe clamps to add later. The muzzle break... don’t get me started, doesn’t even match the instructions illustration so I’ve completely remodeled it. It is now a late one. I’ve also started work on the replacement engine from AFV Modeler. Lovely to build it a second time. No comparison with the kit engine which is poo. How Trumpeter could come up with that after its MAJOR triumph with the Tiger engines remains a mystery. I shall now post this and follow with the photos.

Is the resizing turning all these photos sideways?

Slow but it worked so onwards. A lot has happened as I’m bring it on par with the Panther before the tandem builds burst into life as it were.

Firewall work so far

The crew side of the firewall now needs the latches for the engine access and panels. I’ve final bought some PE to make these. Finally after all these builds. Lol

Bit more on the engine side of the firewall and the auxiliary fuel tank. The driver’s seat now needs buckles on the cushion straps to finish it and the hull rear wall is ready to have items attached. I’m actually getting to the point where I need to start installing things to go further. The next thing though is the upper engine detail. Linkages etc.
