Comments on the kit.. Dragon's usual standard of excellence in build and casting, with their also usual impenetrable and at times flatly impossible instructions.. but it all comes together looking very fine with so much nice detail. Can see why the series are popular classics. Ihad my usual trouble with pe clamps etc but they look okay in the end.

DId the kit come with the interior, and which kit is it? My favourite and this is a beauty. Love the interior. It'll rock with the paint on. Watching watching....

The driver's compartment is supplied as you see it. It lacks a fair bit but you will only glimpse it through the interior so no sense going mad in there.

The kit is Dragon 6262 Scalemates

Also our glorious leader sent me a set of friuls with it which should be nice!

Only things I added so far are radio cabling and headlight power cable.

I'm building one of these but a different boxing, mine's the latest offering from Dragon I believe.

Thanks!

Addition of the boom-stick. fiddly construction in there, but fits okay in the end and moves up and down even lol.

Its lovely but damn some of the parts are tiny and some of the fit it pretty much guesswork.

Im at the 'ready to prime' stage. Im thinking of priming it in AK dark yellow, make my life easy.. or I could prime in black and overspray the yellow in layers to get a more complex tone to things. hmm

Nice progress. Is that using only the AKRC paints?

No, only the ivory and the brush painted blacks, whites etc are the new paint. I dont have the German colours yet.

Camo is AK oxide primer, then AK standard dunkelgelb, olivegrun, rotbraun plus AK chipping colour and some other random things.

More painting, just a quick picture, lots to do!

Chipping fluid, AK acrylics over the red, then chipped back with a coarse brush.

Very nicely blended. Check if there are any areas like the inside of the gun shield if there is nice clean paint. Stains and or small hints of chips will even up the wear. Doesn’t need very much, even just the touch of a lead pencil to give the hint of wear. Looking so good.

Must say this really makes me want to get one of these. Andrew offered me a Tamiya one with Fruils once and I couldn’t take it. Kicking myself now.

Thanks.. working over the whole thing about another 10 times before I will be happy with the wear heh

I've also been using some oils to adjust the Colours (the green needed more green) and add variation, and a number of other bits. lots of detail items still to paint and mess with. adding and also hand painting some of the insignia as seems to have been done in reality.

I also corrected the part I missed on the back where the hulls join (bloody dragon instructions) which now looks less stupid
