Thought I’d have a go at making something out of the box while taking forever to make break and remake three things out of boxes. It comes with both turrets so there may be a Turm in my future with the second turret attached.
Looks lovely and straight forward, but I have David Bowie singing “injection pin city” in my ears so it will certainly be bog standard if nothing else. I think there’s plenty of aftermarket stuff for this kit now, but my priorities in this regard lay with the Tigers. This is just for fun.
The engine ready to be attached to the radiator. All goes together nicely. No dramas. Not a huge amount could be done to this apart from aftermarket stuff, but boy it will be hard not to add to some items in the next few steps.
A question for those who’ve built Takom kits. How accurate is their paint guide? I have to start the painting of all this as I go along as it won’t be possible to paint well if completely assembled first.
As I’ve now reached the point where I have to paint the details of interior items before I can close up and proceed, I threw together the riveted turret so that I can think about a Tobruk Turm for it. It will look rather good, I just need to decide how much to show. Rather big in 1:16 especially if I was to use this piece of packaging
Held up with this because the painting doesn't interest me, but I've checked what's coming up next in the build and can move on and come back to the interior shortly. Never put off until tomorrow what you can do the next day.
