Ok the title sounds better than the reality :P

Yet another Dragon Tiger II on the bench, I started this one just over a week ago. I like Dragon kits you get a lot of plastic for your $$
Here it is ready for the paint shop, primer's up next.

And here's the tracks which may well push me over the edge, each link is made up of 6 parts well technically it's every 2 links as there are 4 joining pieces.

Will post updates as they come, hopefully it'll turn out something like TL's but I doubt it.

In that case, WTF are the tracks for it, lucky I had some Fruils in the stash :P :D
Next one to build after this will be the Zveda one as it's in the stash, then I'll look at getting a Takom kit (or 2).

There's a special place in hell reserved for the bloke who came-up with six-piece individual tracks !! - Never done 'em hopefully will never have to. That aside, looks like you're on the way to another excellent armour project, matey.

Ha, I can imagine :P A friend that also brought a chunk of my stash hasn't even unloaded the majority of it from the boxes I sent it in  I had to wait several weeks for a part I wanted to buy back while he searched through sealed boxes of tanks and bits

The photos don't do the colours justice.
Base colour on, I'm still tempted to do this as a green with Dungelgelb and Rot Braun stripes tank depends how well this first colour goes.
Post and Pre-Shading all done.

Gary, you made a beautiful job of the PE on this. The cable is a dog to use unless burnished first. Looks perfect. That's a very fine build. I'd do the spectacular Normandy scheme.

Thanks folks, the cable was easy, I just used Mr Metal primer, it's clear, dries real fast and puts a very fine coat on that binds to the metal and allows easy painting, I hand brushed it on to all the tow cables, barrel and all of the PE prior to priming.
I had my mind set on one of the "OTB" schemes but I made the mistake of looking around on the net and now I don't know what to go for.

Thanks Tony that means a lot to me :D

A wee bit of an update, I was able to get the next layer of paint on, next up will be to mask up again and then paint the whole thing green :D
Photos from the phone so colour is a bit off register.

Wish me luck lol

Thanks Kane, I've applied a filter layer and it's toned it all down a bit. I've been working on the wheels and tonight I'll probably start working on the washes.
I need to use my proper camera as my phone is not showing the finish as well as it should, will try to post something over the next few days or so.

Kane beat me to it... "Striking" is the word that immediately comes to mind. Definitely got an affinity with these late war German patterns, matey.

Thanks, it's not that hard, I just use silly putty type stuff for the masking, my current brand of choice is Panzer Putty but the others like Mig etc are the same.
It's from a Tiger II in France 1944

Plodding away on and off, just finishing up on the weathering, add some more mud/grass since these were taken but almost ready to call it a day after the flat coat goes on.

Looking so good. I hadn't notice that this came with the pre-production drive cogs to go with the early tracks. Such a nice build.

The cogs were part of the fruil set, they have more teeth.
I had to trim back the idlers to get the line-up right.
