And then came what I thought would be the last. Well that’s a bit of a joke now. The late Tiger I used up most of the remaining Verlinden Tiger bits and was on my mind to build from when I made the first Tiger makeover. It has the first complete interior from front to rear and sports the first zimmerit coating of the makeover series. It is also the first to have a complete set of metal wheels and tracks these being required to make the late Tiger. It was a huge amount of work, but well worth it.

Part the way through finishing the Tiger I came across Heng Long’s KVI and that was that. It has a partial interior and wonderful metal tracks. A BeutePanzer, winter 41.

Which brings us to the latest entry the Final version Pz iv J. This is a mixture of Heng Long and Trumpeter parts with lots of scratch building thrown in. It was really only done to practice various skills I’ll need on the Tiger II triple build I’m undertaking now. It turned into a labour of love as I kept being inspired by some of the world’s best builders to keep adding more. It’s taught me how nice it is to have aftermarket help.

So there we are for now. With three Tiger IIs on the way and Trumpeter preparing to introduce their new 1:16 Panthers, I have a lot of fun ahead.

Thanks for looking in so far. I’ll post various group shots as things move along. Now, back to the Tiger II family.
