Next up came the BergePanther, again built on the Heng Long late Panther chassis, with my first attempt at a scratch built interior. I remember this taking a long time as we moved in the middle of it and it didn’t progress, basically because I didn’t have the skills. It’s still not quite there as I haven’t finished the rods that hold the spade up. I’ll take a shot if it and the late Tiger I with engine removed at some point.

The winch and other details

It was actually a ridiculous build to attempt at the time, but hey, how hard could it be right? Lol

Next up was the first of the Tiger Is. this was the Standard Heng Long Tiger with scratched production bin and self defence weapons added to the hull roof. This vehicle fought at Kursk. I used some of the Verlinden 1:15 Tiger I parts on this and had the idea of making various other Tigers with the remaining items. It still has no interior, but I really like the look of it. There is just something about Tigers

Next up cane the Pz iii bases on Heng Long’s very respectable effort with horrid barrel. This depicts an M from the final battle Rommel fought with them in North Africa, when used as the main battle tank. I have always loved the shape of the III. This was the first makeover with a full turret interior.

But still no hull interior. Not brave enough yet.

Next up the first of the Tiger IIs. This was made from Heng Long’s Production turret version, a very impressive piece actually. It has a turret interior copied from the work people were doing on the Trumpeter Tiger I’m starting to build at present. It is a false, but still cool rendition of 100, one of the Tigers that fought in the battle of Berlin.

Lastly for tonight, next came F05, one of the Fehrmann Tigers. This was an extensively modified Heng Long Tiger with all genders removed and the rear of the turret scratch built after the turret bin was removed. It sports metal road wheels and scratched drive cog covers replacing the early ones that came with the tank. It also used various Verlinden parts. For nostalgia’s sake I fitted The Verlinden Tiger into this so it is the first effort with a hull interior after the BergePanther. It needs metal tracks as the plastic ones don’t fit the metal wheels very well. I really like the weathering on this one.

Have to say the interior was garbage, but it did inspire me to lift my game on the following ones.

Update In Stash:
Lots of 1/35 Armor mainly WWII German and a few Modern British/American pieces, 1/32 Aircraft and 1/48 Aircraft. Aircraft chosen to replicate RNZAF and RAAF types through the years. Some RAF & USAF types exist also.

Thank you everyone for the encouraging comments. Lots of fun and learning in these.... and lots of expletives too lol.

So next up is the Pantherturm. A work in progress using the BergePanther turret. The gun mantlet was adjusted to turn it back into the earlier example without the added armour to remove the shot trap. It’s day will come when the Tigers are finished.

Next up is the Heng Long JagdPanther, a favourite of mine. It has a partial interior including the breech etc and gave me another chance to improve on my first Pak 43 in the Tiger ii. It is the example seen in the famous end of war colour shots, with the field constructed armour plating for the rear deck fans and vents. Lots of rust. I love the look of the exhaust extensions.

The next two were made in tandem, the late Tiger I which took a very long time and the StuG iii because I couldn’t wait to start it. I will show the StuG first as it included the first interior I was actually basically satisfied with. This really helped me to get the confidence to tackle the complete late interior in the Tiger I. It depicts a StuG from Kursk and goes nicely with the Kursk Tiger I. I still need to make up some gear for the rear deck.
