I used to build some AFV some years ago in 1/35 and about my favourite was this Testors/Italeri Ambulance Jeep done (loosely) as a WW2 Marine Corps vehicle somewhere in the Pacific just after a battle -
It was originally painted in Tamiya acrylics which (I find) are difficult to shade/fade by brush so it got that done later using AM acrylics. I added a few extra pouches and a Thompson sub-machine gun. The two figures come from Tamiya's White Half-Track. The whole business of weathering AFV rather eludes me though. The layers of paint have given it a kind of sand-blasted look. Maybe it was on Iwo Jima?
The quality of builds yous AFV folks do makes me want to take it up again and learn all about weathering ... mud and dust and stuff.
If I do, I'd really like to build Italeri's WC54 Ambulance.
My preference - WW2 RNZAF & Pacific Theatre, Allied & Axis, ETO, Mediterranean, AFV & figures
I enjoy doing research
