Wirbelwind was created by Woods
Academy's kit ...I used pins poked throught the hull to hold the tracks down for the sag ,
and grated pumice mixed with crushed artist pastels , along with a number of washes for the dirt

The Landing Craft was Elliot's ( Marder38 ) and was 1/72. Pretty impressive.

My wife calls me a curmudgeon. I haven't looked it up but I assume it means "fun loving and free spirited" or some such twaddle. I inform and perform over at www.militarymodels.co.nz and stick my oar in here as well. My passion is WWII 1/35 armour but I'm coming around to liking the odd 1/32 thing...

Looks good Steve :cheer:

What did you use for the vegetation camo on the Wirbelwind?

It's a wasted trip baby. Nobody said nothing about locking horns with no Tigers.

LOVE the paint job. Restrained.
Peace.

The heavens were the grandstands and only the gods were spectators. The stake was the world, the forfeit was the player's place at the table, and the game had no recess. It was the most dangerous of all sports and the most fascinating. It got in the blood like wine. It aged men forty years in forty...

Andrew , the foliage is lichen I pull off some of my firewood , dried it out then dipped it in some watered down PVA and sprinkled

Very nice indeed!!! What kind of pins did you use for those tracks.....I wouldn't even know where to begin in finding something small enough gage to do the job and not stick out like a sore thumb.

Hi Steve. Just checked out your other dio's, nice mate. I do like the beach landing scene and the destroyed T-80. What do you use for the burnt out details, chalks pigments etc.
