An interesting subject, the only kit in 1/72 of this soviet era flying boat. Originally used in a anti-submarine warfare capacity, later versions converted to air -sea search and rescue.

The box, and sprues:

The paint scheme

and decals

I made a start with the cockpit area,, not going to waste too much time on this, very little to see through the tiny windows, the seats alone consist of four parts.

No part numbers on the sprues and no locator pins, makes for some tedious building ahead..

All the subassemblies completed and fitted together - fairly average fit of parts, but should make up into an impressive model

Added most of the remaining parts, and masked off the open areas and small windows.

Applied Alclad microfiller/primer grey to check ..

The model has the canopy fitted and included some really good paint masks for applying to the canopy and the glazed area of the nose section..

Good to see this still underway. Getting your first coat on, even a primer is like a small jump forward.

All the paint masks fitted,

and all remaining pieces and sub-assemblies built

Final paint job, (basically Hu127 overall)
Finished off applying all decals, Tamiya "Mark Fit" not nearly as good as "Decal Fix",
Matt varnish and pledge to clean all the windows.
and its all done...

Thanks for looking

Nice work! The ugly aircraft types are also the most interesting to look at.
