Started the winter camo...Liking it actually..Pics aren't great but you get the idea..Used heavy chipping fluid and MiG Washable White Camo..Dont mind the results. Some staining next...and then adding some odds and sods..guns..aerials..exhaust etc. The plan is still to use this in a winter Dio..So there are figures and bits and pieces to do as well..Oh..and the actual Dio!
That washable white is very effective.
I will remember that when I come to use it I am not going to pay much attention to the underlaying camo because that excellent effort you put in is now hidden for the season from the prying eyes of those sneeky russians!
Thanks Marcus.. Yeah I wasnt sure as to what was going to be seen when I started weathering the winter back.. Thats why I went with the full camo underneath..I think with careful planning and having a vision of what its going to look like when its done you could get away with not doing it.
Excellent whitewash. You probably couldn’t get away without the camouflage underneath as the white wash would look too uniform. If you’ve covered up the underneath that much you probably have too much whitewash. What you’ve done is great.
Sorry Folks! Been a busy month with concerts and family visiting etc!! Havnt had the desk time! But..Its back out..playing around with oils adding some discolouration and staining..just about ready to add the little bits and pieces now...also some mud and dirt as it is a winter eastern front bird..
Thats all for now...Hoping to get more time in the coming future. I want to have the thing finish with Dio by Armistice!
Righto...Im calling this done! Overall actually very happy with the result. As always there were lessons learnt and things I would do differently.Certainly no longer afraid of doing a "Whitewsh" Camo scheme anymore. The Intention was and still is to do a Dio incorporating this. I am hopefully moving into a bigger room but I need to paint it first! So not sure when the Dio will start. Cheers for looking! I will do some better photo's on the weekend and post them in the gallery.
