I'm building this one out of the box. I'm doing the variant with the blue & white Shark's mouth. So far I've spent about 4 or 5 days solidly glueing sub assemblies together. There is a lot of plastic in the box, and spares include a variation of the canopy and a full set of 8 rockets as well as different bomb types. The box is about the thickness of the Junkers 87 box and half again... so that shows just how much plastic you get. The whopping thick booklet is brilliant... and the parts are in order on lettered sprues... no peck and hunting for parts or loose parts in the bag like the older kits. You can see the sub assemblies glued together. What's in the box is all the other parts that need to be fitted, all the unrequired surplus parts are in my spares box already. The supplement is from the Airfix Scale Model World magazine. The spars are not parallel, they're quite flexible so I don't think it will be an issue. I need to paint the interior pieces before I can proceed any further.

Second ongoing BIG Typhoon build on the site... that's really impressive.

IIRC that sharkface Typhoon was from a Canadian unit, very late war when the squadron was pretty settled in one place and not too many targets to hunt - lots of time on their hands...

Will be paying attention.

Ian.

Cool, I'm at the camo painting stage on mine. Are you going to show the engine or close it up?

Nice Kite :woohoo: I have to admit I do enjoy watching these large builds come together.
If I were to ever build a plane I think it would have to be a big one
Looking forward to next update.
