Wessex scheme ? was created by IAN
Afternoon all...

2016 I built an Italeri SAR AB-212 and really enjoyed it, mentioned then that I'd like to do a couple more SAR builds (especially since it was my 'day job' for nearly twenty years), I bought a Wessex HU.5 and then put it away until I could decide how I wanted to finish it. Still can't decide but definitely want to build it this year. Got the decals for all of these (yes I know the green one isn't a SAR bird) - so what do you folks think ?? (and why ?)

Top scheme definitely looks the best, although the green looks quite fetching too.

In Soviet Russia, Iron Curtain GB builds you!

People look at me funny when I say I own "Fifty shades of Grey". FS36118, FS36270, FS36375.....

I rather like the yellow scheme. Probably because it reminds of the Seaking that I got to see when I was in the UK in 2011

In Progress:
Tamiya 1/48 F-117A
Hasegawa 1/48 TA-4K
www.kiwimodeller.com/index.php/forum/38-...zaf-1-48-ta-4k-build

Completed:
Hasegawa 1/48 A-4M

I'll be following along when you do. I acually bought the Warpaint Series book on the Wessex for when I get the chance to build one. I can flick it down to you for your build if you think it might be helpful. Or you can just look at it here, I've just found. www.scribd.com/document/172734385/Warpai...o-65-Westland-Wessex

Yellow 22 Sqn.

Mainly cause I have fond memories of them flying up and down Westward Ho! Beach and the guys in the back waving back to us when we waved at them.

When we first moved there 22 sqn had Whirlwinds for a short while then the Wessex arrived which we’re around for most of my childhood then Sea King after I’d left home . I seem to remember I built the matchbox one as a yellow RAF SAR machine as a kid.

Very fetching images Ian. I reckon you should do the yellow scheme.

You may cause me to dig my Yellow Seaking out of the Procrastination PIle for finishing and dedicate to your days in the Service. ;)

I've always liked the yellow scheme. The 1/32 Wessex kit I have comes with options to finish in that green scheme.

I prefer the yellow scheme. The other two schemes leave me cold really, so flip a coin between them for second and third.
