This is the start of a challenge I accepted from Hadleigh at AiC recently.
What was I thinking :pinch: anyway decided to make a start.
Bits and pieces had already been started so some tidy up has been needed  . The glass in 1 side door had been glued well in place and no amount of carefulness was going to see that come out without breaking the door, so the door got cut out of fuselage.
Whurly things that sit on top needed fixing, they (2 ) were broken, now ready for prime and paint.
Pilot and co are small and not a lot of detail but suit what I have in mind for this build, the officer which belongs to the bike ( which will not be used) has a new job description.
I wont reveal what I'm going to do with this but I think you are a pretty cleaver lot and will pick up quickly what this choppers new role is ;)

So this is where I am at with it.
Some priming to do this weekend hopefully and crack on with the interior and figures.
Cheers for popping in to have a look.

Cool project. Have been tempted to get one of these kits for a while. I'm surprised of the simplistic detail, but it should provide a nice canvas to do some detail work if you wanted to.

That kit brings back some memories! There was a department store in Takapuna back in the early 90s that sold Academy kits. I think this kit was $3 or $4 and then there were the Blackhawks which were $6 each. A friend and I built a fair few of these one school holiday.

So not much going on here at moment.
I have done a bit of filling of seams and figures, that's about it.
Slow and steady,

Well after having a wee break from the bench I have decided it's time to pull finger and get glue and paint flowing again.
So up to a bit of priming now on a few kits but question I have is what colour do I paint the inside of this thing ?
It is not going to be a military scheme but civilian if that makes a difference, Hadley you will know :)

Shall be dropping a bag of popcorn in the nuke, to watch this one.

I found an Academy 1/48 built kit in the local Op Shop. Want to do an IDF bird.
It's missing the rotors.
So,

Let me know if there's ANY parts you need, I've got a few Heli kits lol

would you happen ot have a spare one, Hadley?
;)

Just the set of rotors? I don't think I do, but I'll have to look through my pile of bits
Which kit was it?

Same kit Tiger's doing.
The 'Police' chopper. All white plastic is a bee-atch, btw.

While we're on the topic, I also found the Italeri 1/48th UH-1D built-up with the 500.
Also missing rotors.

A guy in the Yew-Ess might have one, though S&H is a PITA.

Cheers

Any advice welcome.

Yeah just keep rubbing they "should"go away unless they go all the way through, then just give them a good buff or cheat and use Klear or similar.

Hey tiger
Sorry to hear about the break up
Where's the injection marks you speak of? If it's the small circles you're referring to, those are moveable vents to let air in to cool you down...
