Hi Guys

Thought I would share some pics of what I have been doing lately. I've been pretty bad on this one and have not posted any pics of it till now. This build has converted me to 1/32 WWII aircraft, I really like this scale now so hopefully you will see more 1/32 builds in the future.
I have also been meaning to work on my PTO GB, but I am at that filling and sanding point (which bores me) and have currently gone off that build for now. Hopefully I will be back on to that build once this is finished or if I have some time in between.

This kit has been a little up and down for me. few things didn't work like the wheel wells not touching the top half of the wing when glueing the wing halves together and the tail looking bent!? I think it was my eyes deceiving me as it seems to look ok. There are a few mistakes but this will only sit in my cabinet.
I am currently up to the painting stage I am getting really excited. I can't wait to get this finished!

For my paints I have used Model Master enamel RLM 78 and 79. I did add a little white to the paint to try fade it but you can't really see it in these pics.

Anyway here are a couple of photo's, hope you guys like it.

Mike

Hey Guys

Here are some pics of the office. These pics don't really do it any good, sort of a looks a bit boring and plain to me. I made the seatbelts from Tamiya tape and fuse wire. Please forgive me I realised after I assembled the fuselage that the belts were the wrong colour.

Looks good to me. The IP is excellent.
I dunno about the colour of the belts but they look well made.
Cheers

Hey Guys

Here are some more pics of my 109. I have applied the decals which didn't work to well for me. They look alright but I am not 100% happy with them. I also made a major ooopsy  :( with the round decal just in front of the super charger air inlet. Its to far back. When I add the air filter it sits a little on top of the decal. I'm really annoyed with my self for making this mistake. I've just decided to finish this now, as It will end up just sitting in a box and probably get broken.

Any way here are some pics.

Mike

Looking GOOD !
Can't you re wet the decal with warm water? or did you already sealed it up with a clear coat or similar,

If not.............. ask here on the KM if someone has a spare,it's too nice to go to waste!!

Check with Moeggo, I know he did his one not too long ago and I can't remember if he used the kit decals or not. Knowing Dave, he would have gotten some aftermarket ones.

- Gaz

Edit: found his one here . Looks like the scheme he did didn't use the leopard head decals so he might have them spare if you ask him nicely. (Knowing Dave, he will be most happy to help out if he doesn't need them.)

Seeing all these fantastic 109's is making me think about going and getting the same kit from Webmod. I'll think about it some more.....

Cheers guys. Yea I have sealed it now. I didn't think about checking to see if anyone had a spare. I had only just noticed it after I had applied the gloss coat. I should have been paying more attention. I like it but am annoyed with it at the same time.

You should get it Gaz. It's mighty impressive in 1/32.

Have 4 of these kits in the pile... If you need that JG27 emblem I have a few to spare... To remove that decal just rub it back with some 2000 wet and dry.

PM me with your details and I will pop a couple in the mail for you.

Hi Guys. More pics of my build. I have just applied some exhaust stains. Sorry for the bad pics. I don't really have a good space for a good photo booth.

Let me know what you guys think.

Also would anyone have any tips for rigging the antenna wire?

Cheers

Mike

First things first, it looks superb, restrained weathering is one of the most difficult disciplines to pull-off, and I think you've got it just about spot-on, Mike. Second, aerial wires - personally I use lycra thread, cyano glue, fine point tweezers and patience. Almost always works for me. Particularly 'clear' lycra thread then once it dries lightly dry-brush with a light coat of Tamiya 'Smoke'....

....trust me it looks 'perfect' !! - HTH

Hi guys

I was wondering if anyone might have some spare 109F-4 decals? Have been thinking about stripping the paint on this model and re doing it.
I have lost the air filter, so was keen to do it in a scheme that doesn't require it.

Cheers

I'll have a look in my spares. I'm pretty sure I've got a fair few decals left over from my build.

If you have any spare decals that would be great. Just need a set that doesn't require the use of the sand filter, as I lost my part :(

Hello Fritz,

Is the thing that you lost the filter the only reason you want to re-do the scheme?

You can have the filter from mine if you like. I am doing this kit in flying pose and bought an open filter from Quickboost.
