Airfix Beaufighter TF.X was created by Leavemygoosealone
Hi team.
Calling this one finished apart from the torpedo that will be painted and attached over the next few days.
It's the new tool Airfix Beaufighter TF.X finished as 489 Squadron RNZAF, with Tamiya acrylics and the kit decals.
Please excuse the gaps here and there. Didn't bother filling and sanding.
I was considering attempting weathering but I like this one too much to risk ruining it by experimenting!!!
Great kit and a fun build! Here are some pics.

Thanks Tiger and Wally.

Using the 3' rule for this one :pinch: . Will definitely experiment with filling, sanding and weathering on the next project (undecided on A-4E/F or F-8E, both hasegawa, or Tamiya Tornado, all 1/72).
These new tool Airfix kits are real good!

Nice work, and some good paint skills on show in terms of smoothness. As for ruining it by experimenting... I somehow always end up making everything i build a crash test dummy for something or other. All part of the fun.

Thanks everyone. Definitely learning something new every time! Will practice some filling and sanding, and weathering on the Hasegawa A-4E.
Wouldn't mind doing another beau as it was a fun build!

Looks pretty good. I never liked them with the radar nose so luckily I found a pic of one with the tail fillet but a normal blunt nose for when I do my Tamiya one. A bit of trivia for you, one of the guys from my work (he's in his early 60's), his father i think flew as a navigator with 489 sqn during ww2 in the beaufighters, he has a few stories he's told us about.

In Soviet Russia, Iron Curtain GB builds you!

People look at me funny when I say I own "Fifty shades of Grey". FS36118, FS36270, FS36375.....

Thanks all. Radar nose is pretty darned ugly! Much prefer the snub nose with fillet also!

Wow, how about that! Love hearing first/second hand stories from this period. It's amazing the history you can find out from people around you. I only learned a couple years ago that my dads uncle trained on Oxfords in Ashburton and wigram, then C-47's island hopping in the pacific. We have his logbook from '43 through '45.
