Certainly looks a lot better in the hand than it ever did in pics online. I really like it, even compared to the Tamiya D. A lot more detailed.

Just delivered by the postman. Still feels a little funny ordering Hasegawa kits, when not long ago, we would have been distributing them to retailers.

Looks very tasty Craig. Must say, despite only building 1/48 or bigger, that some of these new tool 1/72 aircraft kits are looking very very nice! As detailed as 1/48 kits of a decade ago.

New reboxing of Valon 1/48th Islander arrived today. It has a new spruce with turbine engines and lots of EW antennae. It was operated in Northern Ireland during "The Troubles' by British Army Air Corps providing intelligence support to Army and Police. It will be part of diorama with a series of Airfix 1/48 Land Rovers I'm working on. Originally planned to use a Beaver or AAC utility Wessex but both kits are OOP.

Just had an order from BNA turn up this morning with a bunch of Abteilung oils and this pretty wee thing. Unlike the 1:48 B1 that I sold to G1, this may fit in the house somewhere

So another one into stack. This will be finished in Op Banner, Northern Ireland scheme to go with AAC Islander and a brace of Airfix Army and RUC Land Rovers

Found one.

Last Nov. the urge came upon one fierce for a 1/48 PBY-5.
Part of the problem arose when a seller sent me the wrong kit, after a mix-up with another buyer. Seller sent me a 1/72 Catalina, so I had to have a wee shufti while it was here.

Oddly, I'd only ever seen Monogram's PBY-5A amphibian kit in the stores. One point, years ago, I had a 1/72 kit I started to convert to flying boat.
Ended up in the -too-hard-basket'.

Fast-forward and I thought about a 1/48th kit.
Quick looksee at Evilbay and, lo! must've been 6-7 Revell-o-gram, in both fits.

And I see the PBY-5. With the lowest starting bid ever.

Fortune favours the prepared.
Wasn't that optimistic yet I put in a max bid, since I'd be at work and miss the end of auction by minutes.

Stone me if I hadn't got her.
US$59.00. Total shipped - NZ$115.

I tell you that because the nearest kit was about US$140-$200.

Happy camper, now. I can build a 6 Sqn in 'XX' codes.

You are what is referred to, in boxing parlance, as a "jammy bar-steward".
Nice catch Rather chuffed you saved it from a potential flinging into limbo.

I found a built-part-painted 1/48th Huey, in an Op Shop.

Finally bit the bullet and bought a resin printer, had enough of drooling at all the fantastic print jobs people were doing so bought one of these to get be going.

Will be keen to see if this is as good as they say it is, if it is then I won't need to be buying as much aftermarket stuff any more.

Next item on the list is a bigger Plastic printer, I'm looking at the Artillery Sidewinder x1, I was all set to go with a Creality CR10 but it seems the new Artillery printers are knocking the socks off the Creality printers.
I want to be able to do big print jobs, being able to print a whole helmet in one go would be awesome.
