But what a kit!

Holy s**t, I just saw the price :pinch:

Yeah...I coughed a little! But was better than the full price by about $130 B)

Took a punt on one of these kits a few weeks back. An aftermarket cockpit and wheels look to be in order some time in the future. Beautiful decal sheet but not the options I want to put on it. It certainly occupies a fair chunk of real estate.

Steve that's going to be a 'vast' build, good luck sir.

Been chatting with a modelling buddy from Brazil recently and discussing potential Luftwaffe builds. I was very impressed with an 1:48 ICM Hs126 he recently finished and seriously considered investing in one... in the end and after a shed-load of reading reviews and watching YT builds, I decided to buy this instead:

Kit schemes are all 70/71/65 with variations in yellow theatre marks, I also have a Kagero sheet with a beautiful North Africa scheme so as yet... undecided. There's so much quality in the (sturdy) ICM box that the only AM needed is a set of belts and masks which I've bought. This'll be my BIG Spring project like the BAC Lightning was last year.

Best from the 'Naki.

Ian.

Nice Steve and Ian. From what I understand some of those ICM kits are pretty good! Apparently their MiG 25 Is the business

Cheers Corran and Ian. I have to agree that ICM are turning out some really nice kits these days and I've purchased accordingly. I have the Mig-25 RBT in 1-72 and 1-48 scales and they look good. Have still to acquire any of their Ju88 kits but will look forward to your build Ian.

No kitset purchases to report, but I have been wanting to get these Molotow chrome markers for ages now and they're on special at Gordon Harris at the mo.

I bought the 1mm & 2mm pens which I think are going to come in handy for painting small details, undercarriage oleos etc

That's an awesome find, KB.
Never occurred to investigate fine-tip pens in chrome.

I have silver ink pens and marker but they're not shiny enough.

Will have to invest in some chrome things.

Regards

Can't remember who it was that posted these cutting guides but they looked interesting so I thought I'd get some, along with yet another book on modelling and some sanding pads.
The sanding pads are by the same company that makes the cutting guides and I have some of their other pads which I just love to use.
The book is good, not quite what I thought it would be as it deals primarly with building the miniart buildings, it is still a good reference guide which I'm sure I'll be using at some point as I have a number of these buildings in the stash.

Been after something like these 2 for a while and the molding is pretty crisp and detailed. Also looking forward to Takom doing the russian Kashtan CIWS soon too.

I have fond memories of watching CIWS firing at night from the flight deck, making sure we stood in the blind spot for the flight deck camera since we weren't meant to be there.

BRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrp

I have a sectioned 20mm discarding sabot round mounted on my leaving plaque from when I left Whenuapai.

Wow those are cool Gary! Would love to see it built up

I finally got my hands on one of these kits. I have been waiting for stock to come back into NZ, which looks like it won't be for a while, so I ended up getting it from Hobbyeasy.

Found thjs nice little addition at the LHS.

$51.00 is close to what I'd shell out for anything online.
I consider that a victory.
